Resident. Abundant throughout the British Isles as far north as Sutherland, but far more rare and local in the north.

Recorded quite well across the county.

Lifestage data
Leaf miner. Eggs laid on underside of leaf. Larva forms a gallery which
develops into a square blotch which enlarges as feeding continues.
Pupates in an ochreous cocoon under a turned down leaf edge. |
